Registration information

WORKSHOPS will be held upstairs in the Burnsville Community Room at the Yancey Public Library.  From Town Square, turn right onto North Main by the First Baptist Church. Take the second right onto Green Mountain Road.  At the stop sign, you will see a large, brick building in front of you, which is the library.  You may park anywhere on the street, or proceed around to the library parking lot, which is entered at the far side, up a steep driveway on your left.  Look for the sign that says “Book Cellar.”                                                                                                           Friday workshops: Reid 9-11:45 and Meltz 2-4:45.  Saturday workshops: Meyers 9-11:45, Martin 2-4:45. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the workshop.

GREEN KNOB HIKE participants should bring water and wear comfortable shoes.  Check in at the Registration Desk at the Town Center before boarding, then walk to the Town Square to meet the Yancey County Transportation van across from the Garden Deli 15 minutes before departure for the ride to the trailhead.  Note: if we cancel this event due to inclement weather, you will be sent a full refund for your registration fee.

BANQUET is Friday September 11 at 7:00 pm in the Town Center Legacy Room.  Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in at the registration table.

PLEASE NOTE: Doors open at 6pm Saturday for the 6:30 Kingsolver/Patchett In Conversation.  If possible, please come to the Registration Desk any time Friday or Saturday between 9am and 5pm to pick up your wristband “ticket” rather than stand in line at the door.  We recommend you put it on as soon as you get it; if you lose it, your “ticket” is gone. They are Tyvek and very sturdy.  There is no “waiting list” for potentially available seats – sorry!

CONVERSATION WITH BARBARA KINGSOLVER & ANN PATCHETT is Saturday, September 12 at 6:30 pm in the Town Center Legacy Room.  Please arrive 15-30 minutes early to pick up your ticket(s) at the registration tables.  There will be open seating.  Authors will have a book signing after their talk.  Attendees will be limited to 2 signed books per author.
